Penalty Abatements

If you have filed a late tax return, paid your taxes after April 15th (even if you filed an extension), mis-reported something or accidentally left something off entirely then you most likely have had penalties assessed by the IRS. Owing the IRS feels bad enough but having to pay penalties on top can seem downright unfair. All in all, everyone makes mistakes sometimes. The IRS will abate penalties if you qualify for a first-time abatement or if we can demonstrate reasonable cause.
